Need to open a cash drawer every time a document is printed ,
but the software you are using wont do the trick, or, you're not
sure your drawer/cable or printer is working? Follow these steps
to have Windows send the command every time a document is
printed. Requirements:
- Using a cash drawer connected to an Epson POS printer
through the drawer port (see diagram)
- Computer is running Windows (XP or later)
- Epson Printer Drivers are installed - there is an Epson
printer in the printers folder of the Windows Control Panel

Right click icon and select Printer
Properties (Windows 7)

Find Printer in Printers Folder

Click on Advanced Tab
Select the Printing Defaults button

Choose Advanced Tab then Printing Defaults

Send Command
You can have the driver send a command every time a document it
printed.
The command to enter is: 1B 70 00 C8 FA
Using the Send command as on option will generate a 200ms pulse to
the cash drawer #1 line.
Note: Do not connect a Cash Drawer to the POS108 when using the
Printer Alarm setting
as the alarm will not sound. |

Rig
Now you will see
Cash drawer #1
(2 Pins) and Cash Drawer #2 (5 Pins)
If you only have 1 cash drawer, use drawer #1
Each drawer has these options:
Select Open before printing or Open after printing to have
Windows issue the open drawer command every time a document is printed.
NOTE: This sends a very brief pulse of 25 ms and often does
not work. Use the Send Command, above.
Press OK
Test by printing a document. |
