How to replace a Micros SSD Drive

WS5 SSD Replacement

	The SSD used in Workstation 5 is a 2.5 inch SATA drive with the normal SSD drive case.
	The drive is accessed by opening the case in the WS5. The drive is held by a single screw when removed alows the drive to slide off.
	Detach the bracket by removing the 4 screws. Attach the bracket to the new drive.
	The drive backet slides into the cutott on the montor frame. The single screw keeps it in place.
	Here the installed SSD drive is visible installed into the 5 monitor frame the data and power cables are attached to the motherboard.
	The SSD is attached to the motherboard using a power cable (left arrow) and the data cable (right arrow)..

Once removed the drive can be replaced with another SSD drive installed with the proper operating system.

WS6 SSD Replacement

The SSD used in Workstation 6 is a half length SATA drive with the normal SSD drive case removed.

The drive is accessed by removing the Mag stripe reader in the back of the WS6. After removing the cover, the reader unplugs from the RJ45 jack (see below).

Here the installed SSD drive is visible installed into the 6 motherboard, accessible through the mage stripe reader opening.

The SSD is installed into the WS6 motherboard using a metal bracket that is fastened to the SSD with 3 screws. The drive plugs into a SATA drive socket.

The bracket has 2 hooks that grab the edge of the motherboard.

Once removed the drive can be replaced with another SSD drive installed with the proper operating system. Reuse the metal mounting bracket if necessary.

Re-Install the drive by plugging the drive into the drive socket and hooking the bracket onto the edge of the circuit board.
