Powered USB Equipment for POS
cards, cables and computers
Powered Plus equipment eliminates the need for external supply bricks to
power USB peripherals in your retail locations. It makes your Point of Sale
peripherals more dependable and reliable with a single connecting cable
providing data and power. You can connect self-powered USB devices such as
barcode scanners, receipt printers and signature capture devices to the HP
rp5700 Point of Sale system, without having to power these devices with
cumbersome power supply bricks. This type of connection is common on many POS
systems used by Subway, UPS stores and others.
The HP 4-Port Powered USB Card is a PCI form factor card which features three
12V ports and one 24V port for devices such as receipt printers. All ports
include integrated cable locking mechanisms, which are also compatible with
standard non-powered USB devices.
The PoweredUSB hub allows you use PoweredUSB devices with a computer with a
regular USB port.
The RP5700 was designed and built as a POS computer, is robust and energy
saving and contains the power plus expansion card.
Power plus cards are available for Epson TM series printers. Cables
connect the printer to the expansion card no printer power supply is needed (see
illustration below). TM series printers with powered USB interfaces are
supported in Windows and Epson's free Advanced
Printer Driver (APD). No additional software is required. |
